  4. ‚Ä¢ Adjuvant chemotherapy must still be considered
  5.   investigational, but it can provide a slight increase in
  6.   disease-free survival and a trend toward improved overall
  7.   survival.
  8. ‚Ä¢ Treatment with radiation or chemotherapy or both before
  9.   surgery has been used on an investigational basis.
  10.   Preliminary results suggest that there may be benefit by
  11.   combining all three treatments in selected cases. Newer
  12.   trials are giving cisplatin with etoposide or other agents
  13.   together with radiation, followed by surgery.
